tool marks begone
Simon,
thanks for your suggestion about using an oxy-acetyline torch to remove stun
marks from a granitic boulder. I rigged a metal mesh "bib" behind a rosebud
tip to deflect the hot spalls that flew from the surface. in a short time I
found I could efficiently control the process. finally, after blasting with
fine (#220) sand, the result was indistinguishible from the natural unworked
surfaces of the boulder.
