Sandra,

I have been reading all the great advice you have gotten regarding airhammer
use. I think is time you take a road trip! Keep looking for someone who has
the equipment you are interested in, and take a piece of marble to that
person. Anyone who is carving with air would let you try it out.

There is a stone tool supplier in Rockland Maine, ( I'm dredging this out of
my memory as I go ) called Bicknell Co. Track them down and tell them what
you want to do. If they are still in business. As you have been already
been told, most monument dealers have at least a small selection on air tool
on hand . A little farther away in Vermont there are major marble and
granite centers. Barre Vt. has granite and Rutland Vt has the marble. Both
areas have active carvers. I have personally done business with Granite City
Tool 1-800-451-4570.

I would't have any problems letting someone like you play with my tools,
because its almost impossible to damage them. I'm sure you can find someone
to help you.

I think it is extremely important that you actually use this kind of
equipment before you start buying. The cost can be considerable. An air
hammer, chisels, compressor, hose, fittings , and safety equipment for eyes
and ears all adds up. You may find out that you don't like all the noise,
dust and vibration. You won't know until you try it out.

Also look up on the web for the monument builders of north america. You
should find listings for monument dealer in your state.
If you get to western New York, between Buffalo and Rochester I'd be happy
to help, but I am a very long ways from Northern Maine.

Keep trying and let us know what happens!
George Graham
