Vintage Stone Carving Tools - Value?
Archie,
I looked at the tools and the high bid is still a fair price. I've got a
similar set that I found in a second-hand tool store. I paid $60, but
nobody was bidding against me!
Ebay's look like finishing tools that a stonemason would have used. I don't
see any missing teeth or broken corners which is good. If the temper is good
then they should provide a lot of use.
My chisels have much bigger teeth, and I'm afraid to use them on hard marble
for fear of breakage, but they are perfect on alabaster and indiana
limestone.
Good luck
george graham
