European sculpture project
Greetings All,
It is amazing how things happen. Your ideas about
cooperative sculpture building have compelled me to
share this with you. Our gang of carvers, here in the
NW of USA, are planning a group project at a new
sculpture park in the San Juan Islands, and one of the
notions involved seeding a series of projects by making
one piece, breaking it, and sending the pieces out to
become stimuli of new works in other places. We are
still in the planning stage of course, and the first
project will probably happen in the spring. It would be
wonderful to keep in touch as You folks in Europe, and
maybe others on other continents embark on similar
adventures. I do believe the Mother Earth theme is one
we can all embrace, and who knows how many local
variations we can come up with?
Happy Carving,
Tracy Powell
