drilling into soapstone
'soapstone' is an eponymous term.........the stuff is SOFT........compared
to granite or even most marbles, the requirements for drilling this material
are so less demanding. You could use a regular steel bit in a drill
(variable speed if possible, with the slowest speed possible)., a drill
press stepped down to about 500 rpm would be ideal..........Diamond tooling
is a bit of overkill.
don't use a sledge to kill that bug when a tackhammer will do.......
good luck,
chz
