colour on marble
Hi Oskar,
I've tried to stain marble using ordinary wood stain
(the powder you dissolve in water).
It gives amazing effects.
I have taken a varving on a piece of 2cm thick Cararra
marble and had the stain in there for one night. It
seeped right through. The longer you leave it the
further down it gets. I haven't tried to use different
colours on one piece, though, and I don't know, how
clear you can get the borders between colour fields.
Next thing is, it washes out in the rain. So if it's
an indoor pice no problem, outdoors no idea. You might
have to seal it and I don't like the idea of sealing
stone.
It polishes fantabulously.
Enjoy experimenting
Richard
