Howard,
One idea that I have seen used ties into the
use of power points overhead or high on the wall (waist
high for instance). If you pour a floor and walls, or use
block for the first few feet and have the electrical outlets
a few feet or more off the floor, you can use a water hose
to wash down the floor of your studio and collect the
runoff water in the sump mentioned by Simon. This makes
significant cleaning quite a bit easier within the shop area
and eliminates electical hazards. Additionally, the block or
poured walls extending a few feet off the floor eliminate
moisture problems for the walls with this system. Be sure
that any electrical outlets you have are protected by
ground fault circuit interupters. Nothing will spoil your day
faster than having a shock.
