Linda,
I believe that you wish to remove the rocking more than make a perfectly
level surface. Only the outside edges of the bottom actually support the piece.
Remove extra material from the center so that three outside points touch. Also,
colored chalk on a flat surface will be transferred to the high spots
when the piece is set onto it. This way you can see the high spots and remove
them until the piece sits soundly on its bottom.
