Subject: Welsh Stone Forum: Cardiff Castle Visit

Some of you who are in the UK may have heard of the Welsh Stone Forum
(Fforwm Cerrig Cymru). It's a new group which has been formed in order to
bring together all people with an interest in the use of stone in Wales.
We are a mixture of architects, archaeologists, geologists, artists,
planners, masons, specifiers, producers, conservators, conservationists,
historians, etc.

Our inaugural meeting is being held in Cardiff on March 8th at 11.30. The
meeting will be a short session to bring the group into a formal existance.
In the afternoon, we are being shown round Cardiff Castle, one of the most
important mediaeval / Victorian buildings in Wales, where there are many
current issues (relating to on-going conservation work) concerning use of
different stone types and their performance.

All are welcome at the meeting and the visit (up to a maximum party size).
If you would like to know a bit more about the Forum, please e-mail me
offline and I will send you the documents that have so far been produced.
