Hi!
Hi Danny, I'm a newbie on this group but would certainly like to see it become
more active so please ask away <g>. I started carving softer stones such as
alabaster and soapstone because I thought that it'd be easier to learn. You
can see the three things that I've done at http://www.negia.net/~grossman/ under the
sculpture section. Anyway, I've learned a lot from books, but don't know if
they'd be readily available across the pond. There is a guy who has a cd
sculpting instruction book (think its http://www.stoneshaper.com ) and you can google
stoneshaper if that doesn't work. Looked like a worthwhile buy (it was $15
american). I liked your piece. cheers, g2
Quoting Danny Ayers:
Quoted text begins.I'd be very grateful for any links to carving-related material,
especially
beginner's tips. I've not located a source of 'proper' tools yet, I've
just
been using what I could find at the local DIY store, so any advice
there
would be appreciated.
End of quote.
