Sealing Stone
Thank you all for the suggestions and thoughts on sealing stone. It's very
encouraging to know that I'm not totally nuts, especially thinking that
Watco works better on walnut than alabaster. I kept my old method (sand and
wax) for this show. I've used Renaissance wax on white alabaster without
problems -- i.e., no discoloration from fondling, aging, etc.
I did manage to find Trewax sealer. A local hardware store had to order me
some, so now I have a lifetime supply! I haven't used it yet, but will on
the next alabaster and soft limestone.
As for John's sanding to 3200 grit -- how much will it cost if I send you
the pieces to sand?! Hahaha. I whimp out at 600.
Thanks again for all the help!
Linda
