Home made tools.
I use old metal cutting tools and grind them to the shapes I need.
Taps and drill rod work especially well. find a metal working shop and see what they are throwing out. Even if you have to buy it from them the price for scrap is reasonable considering the quality of the material. The material is high speed steel. It can be ground easily on a bench type grinder. Do not grind at such a rate to discolor the metal. Do not dip in water to cool as this will distemper the material. Let the material air cool if it gets too hot to touch.
I also gather different grades of wornout grinding wheels to use a rubbing stones to remove chisel marks.
Except for the bench grinder, no power tools are used in my work.
Someday I will have a website.
