anhydrite
Hi Justin,
Don't worry, you can get it as wet as you want while sanding and polishing, and it really responds well to wet sanding. Just don't leave it out in the rain when it is done. Anhydrite is one of those hybrid stones, it is chemically, minerologically most like alabaster, but the hardness and brittle character are most like marble. Files and rasps are much less effective than powered abrasives, but it sands just like marble. Enjoy it, and I can recommend Randy's white anhydrite too.
