Sulfuric acid is available from auto supply to replenish batteries. How long
to leave a rifler in depends on the volume of acid used, ambient temp,
condition and quality (what steel alloy was used) of tool, the phase of the
moon, and many other variables.
I will try to make a suggestion on time after attempting to sharpen some
rifflers.
CAUTION: As wes, it is dangerous. And let me correct one statement:
Acid baths also give off gases which ARE toxic, corrosive,
suffocating, or explosive.
Always add acid to water, NEVER add water to acid. Philip
