jet stick flame tool
Hi,
I have a Jet-Stik.
Great tool -- but before you buy one you have to consider
that a carbide bush tool with a big hammer will rip out a
lot of stone. Down side: uses a lot of oxygen and it makes
an incredible noise -- sounds like a jet plane landed in
your driveway -- plus it makes lots of steam and hot chips
of rock fly around you in some sort of dervish sandstorm!
BUT -- it does an incredible job of making granite stone
have a uniform texture. Even a bush tool has trouble doing
this because it leaves a distinct tool mark. Remember you
will not be able to to direct carve representational work
with this tool -- it is too awkward.
Here is how I use it:
Rough in the stone with a 12 inch diamond blade -- -work it
over with a 9 point carbide bush tool in a 1 inch long
stroke hammer -- and blast it with Jet Stik -- -finish with
silicone sealer -- and your on the way to your next artistic
conquest -- or in my case you have another bit of odd
looking stone in your backyard.
