Right-sized air compressor
You might want to check out some courses offered on building dry stack
walls and other structures. I cannot recall the exact institutions
that offered them, but it seemed like there was one in the Carolinas
somewhere, and another group led by Thomas Lipps in the southwest. The
wallers I have seen work are able to whack off big chunks at once, or
else they put the stone aside. Grinding or air-hammering stones to fit
can be much slower than searching for that perfect-fit stone.
