quarries
There is a quarry near the Pas area, it is a red limestone, and it should be carvable, as they made floor tiles from it, it polished well. as you may know, a lot of marbles on the market is really limestone, any sedimentary rock that can be polished, is classed as a marble. There is also some granite quarries in the Whiteshell area, you can usually pick-up "nubbins" from the quarry at no cost, We (quarriers) like to see our stone used for artistic uses, i usually ask for a picture as a marketing tool, good luck.
