va carvers
Just a point of information about a local Va. stone
for carving. There is a limestone quarry in Appomattox
that has a varigated vein of pink, white, green and a
little purple. I would call it marble however I am
just a stone mason.
I have been carving rustic bird baths from this stone
and sell them at the Lynchburg Community market. The
stone is very smooth and will polish.
If anyone has an interest I will foward the
information.
