Pricing Different Stones
Dear Linda
Re pricing, I recommend that you look up the Learning stone archives I can
remember that we all got into the pricing topic quite extensively not too
long ago, have a look at that and then if you still feel you need more ask
specific questions.
There is a horrible truism about pricing, you can only ever get what someone
is prepared to pay, you can never expect to match price to cost or labour,
mind you this works in our favour sometimes because what people are prepared
to pay can often considerably exceed our costs or labour. Basic price rule
accept your real place in the artworld pecking order and price accordingly,
don't ever think that just because someone makes something that you think
isn't as good as yours and gets a great deal of money for it then you should
be able to charge the same.
You will always do best in the long run if you have a good relationship with
a gallery.
