Stone Carver's Workshops?
Pre 9/11 I always carried my tools, and when I arrived at the airport I
informed the airline, asked for a supervisor, and got a pre-check. No more.
They relaxed the rules, you can now carry nail clippers, but that's the
most you can carry. However, that doesn't mean security has loosened up- on
the contrary, it has become more professional and more strict. I've seen
them flip through every page of every book in someones checked luggage to
make sure nothing was hidden in the pages. I wouldn't even try to carry a
wooden mallet.
You can check your tools, but checked luggage gets lost. I ship mine ahead
via fedex, and prepare return shipment labels before leaving so I can
easily repack and ship upon completion of the job.
