Making a stone sign with a router
I would like to create a stone sign with our street number and name. I have
no experience with stone but I was wondering if this is something I can try
myself with a standard plunge router or should I try to find a professional
to create it?
My idea is to get a round stone about 2 feet across, split it in half
(somehow?), smooth one surface with a router bit and carve the numbers and
letters. Is this possible? What type of stone would be best? What type of
bit is best for carving letters (V or flat or ?)? Any advice I can get?
