Making a stone sign with a router
Dear Peter
I don't think using a router would be ideal - really you can't beat doing it
the proper way with a hammer and chisel. If you're in the UK and want to
find out about letter cutting there's a very good charity called the Orton
Trust based in Northamptonshire. They do weekend courses in lettering etc.
I started out with them and am now a professional letter cutter and stone
carver.
If you do decide to get someone to do it for you, you might want to take a
look at my website: [URL now obsolete] I make signs etc in stone and
can send them out mail order.
Either way, good luck with your project
Jane
