Hi Justin,
Send the tool back to the shop and ask for a replacement or a refund! If a
stone tool can't stand up to being smashed into a piece of stone, it's
probably not made correctly. Although- depends what you bought it for- fine
carving tools shouldn't be used for roughing out. Soft tungsten for hard
stone, and hard tungsten for soft, abrasive stone. Use a green, soft
carborundum abrasive wheel for grinding tungsten and don't let it get hot.
