New subscriber & dust collector question
Hello all,
My name is Kevin Austin, and I am an architectural wood and stone carver.
(Mainly period fireplace mantels) I have been a woodcarver since 1985, but
about three years ago I made the transition to carved stone and cast
plaster. My woodworking dust collector is not made to handle the fine dust
from powertools on stone & plaster. So I have been looking at the various
cartridge or baghouse dust collectors that seem basically like giant
shopvacs. In particular the Torit TD-486, or the cabinet style 80 series.
I was wondering what kind of dust collectors anyone is using for stone dust?
I know many stoneworkers work outside, but I am in a part of the city,
(suburb of Dallas), where I am limited on how much work I can do outside.
Thanks,
Kevin
