I looked at that type, and found them awkward- you always have to clear
space, wheel them into position, and put the inlet over your work area.
Instead I got a Trion m-2500. It's a ceiling hung unit, 2' x 2' x 6' long,
so it doesn't take any floor space. I can cut limestone with a dry 9"
blade, so the air is so cloudy that you can't see halfway across the shop,
and it clears the room in about 6 minutes. I had to experiment with filters
a lot- most filters are 85 to 95% efficiency, and clog up too fast with
limestone dust. I'm now using a washable 45% filter bag (It also has a mesh
prefilter, which I buy in big rolls). I set it to blow outside the
building- almost no visable dust exhausts outside. You need a large open
window or door for make up air, since it needs to draw in fresh air from
somewhere. (Otherwise, if you run an exhaust fan system without makeup air,
it sucks air through your furnace and you'll get carbon monoxide poisoning).
You can get specs at: (needs adobe acrobat to display this page)
