Adding Stone
Hello,
I am an amateur sculpture and have been a member of this list for a few
years but have never posted a question - so here goes.
I am starting my second marble scultpure. My original plans were to do a
head but then I changed my mind and decided to go with a bust and include
the shoulders. But the catch is that I already had purchased my block and it
is too narrow to include the shoulders.
While I was at the Robert Cunningham Studio in Los Angeles doing my first
scupture, I saw that there were a few sculptors adding marble to their stone
with resins. I know that this practice has been around for ages but does
anyone know the proper way to do it to maximize strength of the bond and how
long will the bond be expected to last.
Also is it possible to bond metals to the marble?
Thanks,
Ziad
