Query about memorial stone, U.K. / Europe
Hi Tim,
The finish of a stone greatly effects the color you see. A polished stone
will show its true color. If you start with a brownish granite and have a
bushed finish put on it, you will have a much lighter , frosted brown color.
If the same brown is polished it will probably be dark brown. All the
different tools used on stone will have their own effect on the hue .
You should look into marble and limestone that is used in building in the
UK. It is extremely durable and a lot easier to work then granite. I'm sure
the UK people on the list could help you .
Good luck
George Graham
