Subject: Help!

Hi all,

I've got a problem, and as always when I've got a problem you are always my
first port of call.

I'm working on a commission at the moment, a large marble head as usual,
approximately 1 Tonne and a bit top heavy and because of what could be
called an artistic choice the whole work does not sit flat on its stand
leaving a wedge shaped gap.

At present it is well bolted on its temporary stand and is quite stable but
I need to hide the visible part of the bolts.

As I see it I could make a granite wedge with matching holes through it so
that bolts could go through to the new permanent stand. Idea is OK but I'm
not over keen on the feel of granite for this job and it may be too brittle
at the pointed end of the wedge and get crushed as the sculpture is lowered
on the stand.

Similarly I could cast a bronze section.OK but a bit slick looking for my
taste.

But... what I'm considering is something like an "ultra reliable" epoxy
filler that could be packed into the gap.The question therefore is: Does any
know of a relatively easy to use product that is pretty much guaranteed not
to fall to pieces?

I hope I've explained well enough.

Regards to all Clive
