Retaining fine detail when polishing stone
Tim,
You might try doing your heaving sanding first and putting in the
details when you are starting to use finer grits. I, too, try to get
sharp lines and find this usually works for me.

I find that I am having trouble keeping my fine detail when I take stone
to a high polish.
