tool protectors???
If you're at all handy with needle and thread (or know someone who is) these
are pretty easy to make, too. My sister presented me with one made from
scrap denim (leg from a pair of blue jeans whose knees had given out).
Stitch a hem on the rough edges, fold to make the pockets, and stick between
pockets.
One thing I've seen some woodcarvers do is to store their chisels in blocks
of styrofoam -- push th etip into the block to protect it. Maybe something
similar could work for your tools? Small blocks, one for each tool? Just a
thought.
Of course, if money isn't an issue, you could leave your tools here, then
buy a new set in Italy (yeah, I know...nice dream, but...)
