What to do with slate?
Hi,
I have been visiting this site for over a year, and I finally have a
question to ask, as I haven't ever carved stone, I just dream about doing it
someday.
I have just acquired some left over treasures that were my fathers. One is
a piece of slate approximately 4'x8' and 1/2 inch thick. It is a slate
chalkboard originally from a one room school house in my community (the
local historical society has enough chalk boards for their heritage
village). My question is what could I turn it into. I would be appreciative
of any suggestions that any of you might have. The second is a piece of gray
granite memorial stone polished both sides approximately 2'x3'x6".
It has some staining or discolouration as it was laying in the bush for many
years.
Thanks for any suggestions,
Donna Brock
