Moving Large Stones
Bruce,
There is a stone circle at Glen Innes near where I live (about 500km away)
that was built in 1988, Australia's bi-centennial year. Have a look here:
http://www.australianstandingstones.com/resources/detail.htm
I remember reading at the time that it was erected using a backhoe on a
tractor. With respect to yourself and ancient builders, why not make use of
mechanical assistance to erect your circle?
I have re-read your original posting at:
http://aboutstone.org/conversa/msg00795.html and understand your wish
to create stone art using hand power alone, but surely a duty of care
demands mechanical backup to guard against injury in case of unforeseen
events?
Simon
