Subject:
working granite
Hello,
I'm fascinated by the recent discussions on working granite and the
tools used to do so. I'm new to stone carving, though not new to the
use of hand tools ('ve tried my hand at carpentry for a few years) and
I find it is easy to obtain information on working limestone and such
but much harder to find information on working granite. I'm a long way
off but some day I would like to work in granite (maybe it is the
perverse side of me that also likes mountaineering). Were can the
non-professional stone carver learn about working granite? Or are
working in a monument shop and discussion groups like this the only
options available?
thanks,
Norman
