Stone Egyptian Vases
Simon,
Thanks for the Web site on ancient stone types. I've seen ancient slate
sculpture re-described as greywacke, but not been able to find a clear
explanation of what greywacke really is -- other than from chemical
analysis. This made it more understandable to me. I'll pay closer
attention to other stones the next time I'm in an Egyptian wing of a
museum. My search is actually for slate sculpture.
My slate art book should be published this spring, but then I've said
that in years past. The book is slated for publication, but I'm getting
jaded!
