Unforbidden geology

I'm always searching for material that humanises Ancient stone experts.
Did you check out the link to 'In the Hall of Maat'? It's huge.

Hey, thanks for this link, 'Unforbidden Archeology'. This answers a bunch of
questions I've had for a long time and could never seem to get any straight
answers. I am primarily a stone mason more than a carver, please overlook my
presumptuous responses.
Do any of you know anything about the Egyptian quarries at Turah? This is
the place where the ivory white limestone was quarried for the 22 acres of
casing stone on the Great Pyramid. I do have some real questions about the
possible techniques used in the final finishing of these pieces.
Thanks,
Marc
