vandalized granite
William,
I have read of the use of PSS 20 as a sacrificial anti-graffiti coating for
stone that can be removed with a steam cleaner:
http://www.linrol.com/services/pss20.html however there is also some concern
about damaging stone with the constant application and removal.
I don't know the answer to the skateboard question, apart from providing
free skate parks, it's sad that some skateboarders are so aggressive in
public areas. The black residue that is left on the surface is hard to
clean, and the stone is eventually damaged beyond repair. I was recently
involved in a project accessible to skaters that was to incorporate bronze
tags protruding from the top of a dwarf wall. The tags were deleted after it
was decided that any skater who tripped on them could claim there was an
intent to injure, and sue accordingly.
