Introducing myself; Shop Design
I'm quite interested in this light issue. In my limited experience it
seemed that the strong natural light of the outdoors was best. I have
worked for three summers on a retaining wall and I liked working with
the light/shadow lines lit up allowing me to refine curves and edges,
and I could readily silhouette the object against the light sky to
check balance. It also seemed to highlight flaws in the surface,
including imperfections and changes in curvature. I must add however
that my experience indoors is limited so its not a good comparison. It
would be good to know what other's experience is before going to great
lengths to make a nice shop and then having it wrong.
