tungsten for granite working
You note the solder gives way first. I've seen that happen to carbide when
people sharpen too agressively on a grinder- the tool heats up, the solder
gets soft, and five minutes later the tip goes.
I've also seen carbide tips chip/crumble shortly after people sharpened the
same way- the heat weakened the carbide.
