tungsten for granite working
Then I'd question several things about how the manufacturer is making them-
the type of tungsten used they type of solder and method of soldering
whether he is overheating the carbide when he assembles the tool
Also, what is the shape, thinness of the tip? In limestone I like tips that
are drawn out paper-thin, but for granite you'll need fatter, blunter tips.
I don't know about suppliers in AU, in the U.S you can get good granite
tools from Trow & Holden, Bicknell and Granite City Tool. Kelso in Scotland
makes very nice tools, but I don't know how they are for granite; the ones
I've seen they might be too thin.
