tungsten for granite working
Elaine,
The quarry tips that I used were already brazed in a holder about 3" long,
with an arrangement for quickly releasing the holder. It was this part that
I cut off to allow the embedded tip to be welded to a new holder. The tip
was unaffected because of its worn shape, just the weld let go each time.
I looked at Trow & Holden's website http://trowandholden.com/techtips.html ,
they recommend rounding off sharp edges on a tungsten carbide tool. I think
this may be part of the problem- the tools are too sharp.
