tungsten for granite working
There were only 2 that broke, out of a set of 12 that I had bought for the
workshop. The other 10 are well-pounded now with no sign of breakage. After
the first 2 broke, I rounded the sharp cutting edges off the rest of the new
tools.
Simon, I was wondering if if it was your first time with carbide. the thing
is, you can actualy blow(and I mean literaly) the tip of your tool if you
get too steep into the stone with you carbide(especialy with the chisel).
When the stone is hard it's better to surface, removing a bit at the time
than trying to remove big chunks and damage your tips beyond repair. To
remove the chunks the brushing tool is inevitable.
take care
Jacques
