hydraulic tables
While the tables from Harbor freight are great.....some of us are too
tall for them.......I am saving for the larger lifts that are from
Granger (sp) ( more of a luxury than a necessity. at this point) They
are a bit more awkward since there are only 3 open sides to the working
platform but that's where I use the sand under the stone to allow me to
turn the piece 360. For smaller pieces ( 150 lbs) I have my stands that
adjust up and down manually and I put them directly under my beam and
chain hoist......then while working I circle like a caged pup....makes
quite a trench in the gravel around the base of my stand ! My set up
will allow at least 3 areas with hoists on the beam. I have found that
with really long chains and some long straps I can wrangle a stone from
clear across my studio with one chain hoist. Really saves the back !
Some of you are probably quite capable of making your own hydraulic
lift tables.....my friend makes all of his......
