granite tools/workshops
Susanna,
Like George I also use a big hammer drill (11/2 inch Dewalt with SDS Max
chuck)and carbide tip bits to drill holes up to 5 feet deep in granite,
basalt or whatever else gets in my way. I start with shorter bits and only
use the really long ones for the final foot or so. Drills and bits are
available from a number of places. Another way to go is with diamond core
bits and extensions. This stuff is real exspensive. I have rented the
equipment locally on a couple of occasions for special projects.
