Monument Dealer's Manual
Thanks, Bill
I remember when Peggy Perazzo notified the group about the change of web
address for CAGenweb stone quarries and beyond, it's also the first one I
see in the archived conversations (your link didn't work, by the way. I got
there through http://www.cagenweb.com/quarries/ and then clicked on
economics, methods etc under quarries).
I thought at the time it was an unusual concept, when you mentioned it I
searched for CAGenweb and got a better understanding of the project. There
is so much stuff here! Very down to earth- amazing how some information is
still current - interesting to read about the French stone saw set with
diamonds in 1891!
The quarries page has a 'sandstone background courtesy of the National Parks
Service'- does this look familiar at all? I have been searching for close-up
images of the Washington Monument on the Internet with not much success,
while I know it is made from marble, do you know if the masonry looks like
this background?
I had no luck searching for Grandian- can you please give me a clue where to
find the site?
Simon
