marble sculpting work bench & Stacy Shure
Hi all,
Its funny when you think about it but so many of the topics that we've been
talking about recently could have been solved with one bit of early planning
at the studio building or equipping stage.
I'm on my 5th or 6th studio now, the web site below shows a US version of
the product that I designed into my current work space
http://www.lkgoodwin.com/more_info/ceiling_mounted_bridge_crane/ceiling_mounted_steel_workstations.shtml
Sure it looks like a very expensive way of going about things but this is
where early planning really pays off, my ceiling mounted bridge crane ( I
never know what to call it) cost only a fraction more than a good concrete
floor, something that I didn't want anyway.
With this crane you would never need a scissor lift table as you could build
your temporary workbench up to exactly the hight you may want, you can move
both workbench and work to any spot you want to in the whole studio and
control the light conditions very precisely.
The whole question of whether you site towards North or South is largely
irrelevant when you can face to sculpture that you are working on in any
direction.
The most important thing about an item like this is that you maximise your
useable floor space and therefore do not really need such a big a studio.
regards to all Clive
