Simon - marble sculpting work bench & Stacy Shure
Dear Simon,
1 tonne, Millsom Hoists http://www.millsomhoists.com.au/
As you know what something is rated at and what it will actually carry is
another question 1 tonne is fine for me.
What I was alluding to not how I get things of the truck but how I bring the
1 tonne ( nominally) lumps of stone into my workshop.
I have a heavy duty chain wrapped round one of the concrete piers that forms
my "table" with a large hook on it.
I get my 4x4 and tow these lumps so they line up with the entrance of my
workshop, I then attach a sling and a long length of this magical stuff
called Laser rope ( much stronger than steel cable of the same size) I pass
the other end of the rope round the hook in the studio and clip it onto the
4x4.
Then I just drive away, yes I do worry that I haven't quite got the angles
right as vehicle and rock pass each other, at double speed so to speak.
Anyway it's very effective and awesomely quick! No I don't mind if I leave a
bit of a groove in my gravel driveway!
