Subject:
problems sanding and finishing alabaster
Hi to all. I have been reading all the good information and I am saving lots
of it for future reference.
I started sculpting 2 years ago, I did some plaster before, but now I am
into stone. I started with soapstone and I am doing alabaster.
I would like to know if any of you can give me steps for sanding and
finishing. I always get marks no matter how much I use the paper to sand.
After I have the form I want I use rasps to get rid of the marks and then I
start with paper, usually I start with 150 grit to 1200, but sometimes I use
80 grit and I find it very hard to get all the surface perfect. I would also
like to get a wonderful shine, like glass, but don't seem to be able to.....
Any help outthere?
Thanks to all, I love to read the emails..
