dust masks
I've really enjoyed the discussion of cranes and tables lately. It's
interesting to hear what folks from other parts of the world do in the
process of their work.
Personally, I never even walk in the studio without my respirator on, which
is a North 7700 half-mask with P100 filters on it. There are always very
light particles in the air that can float around for days. If I'm working
on something really nasty like granite, I will sometimes put a couple of
layers of paper towel, held on with rubber bands, over the filter intakes as
a pre-filter. There is no safe dust, as far as I'm concerned. As for the
discomfort of sweating inside your mask, think of it as a sauna for your
face.
What can I say. Call me paranoid.
