green stone
Apparently green marble, though hard, is really serpentine, and serpentine
and soapstone are often claimed to be the same thing. The soapstone blocks I
have worked with, all from Virginia, were too soft for this project. It
seems then that "green alabaster", as has been recommended a few times, is
the way to go. Tracy has recommended a green alabaster from Art City
(apparently from AZ). Anybody know of a dark green one, maybe along the
lines of ivy? I've already made a mistake with the soapstone so I'd like to
get a more appropriate one this time.
