Green Man Yule Marble
Hi all, Verdi Alpi is a green stone classified as a
ophicalcite -- again not a true marble, but possibly more carvable than some
of the tough serpentines. Also another thought is chlorite sold for
carving. Have never seen nor worked with this stone, but have seen it
mentioned, and I have actually seen some massive chunks of a pure green
calcite and finished pieces carved from this. Seems to work rather nicely.
Sorry, but I do not have a source for this material to pass along, but maybe
someone else on the list does.
Good luck,
John VanCamp
